Kwekers
The buyers of the plants department of Import BLUMEX Export bv often co-operate with well-established growers. Most of the time we have a fixed sale each week, generally for fixed prices and/or weekly prices. This is being extended each season to be able to guarantee continuity and quality. Proof of the success of this concept is the fact that the customer profits from it, as he knows what he is getting and at which price. Weekly the buyers are on the road to make solid agreements with the growers. As a result of these agreements we receive information with which we then can go along. For example it is good to know the availability of products during certain periods, including scarcity and overproduction.

Fairs
Regularly we visit fairs, such as "Plantarium", "Aalsmeer Market" en "IPM Essen". During these visits close contacts are made with the growers.

LAB (Landelijke Aanbodsbank)
For years already we receive information from the Landelijke Aanbodsbank (LAB) ; this is an information system, which has been developed by the flower auctions VBA and Flora Holland.

The growers bring their actual and future offer into this system with data of product characteristics (such as quality, height), quantity and prices per packing. Both of us, we as well as you, our customer, can make use of this system. By means of our order system you can leaf directly through the LAB offer and eventually order a specific product from a specific grower through us.

Our systems renew the LAB offer each day automatically, so this is always up-to-date with the latest product information, availability and prices.

FlorECom
In order to process the orders for the LAB we use the EDIFACT order systematics of the FlorECom Foundation . These order systematics enable that orders are being processed according to a defined path and partly eliminates the chance that a certain product is not available anymore.

Specialism and Professionality
Our buyers each have their individual specialism, such as: flowering chamber plants, green chamber plants and garden plants. So each has his own purchase territory.

Sales information

Growers
Our sales team closely co-operates with the purchase department to inform the customer as well as possible about what is happening on the Dutch market. Just like the buyers the salespersons also regularly visit the growers, auctions and fairs. In this way we keep in touch with our suppliers as intensively as possible.

Our salespersons make an intensive use of the LAB in order to see if there is a sufficient available offer for the customer. This is valid for both ad hoc and future orders.

Specialism en Professionality
For each country and/or region we dispose of professional salespersons. They are either "native speakers" or have sufficient language knowledge to be able to attend to the customer. Also each salesperson has a thorough knowledge of the products and the market.

E-commerce
In order to serve you as good as possible BLUMEX already for some years has an on-line order system. This order system is not, as so many other similar systems, accomplished through a secured VPN connection in order to protect your privacy. We use so-called "Thin Client" by means of a piece of software that has to be installed on your computer systems. As soon as you are connected, you are directly in the BLUMEX system and, just like our salespersons, are able to buy from our actual stock.
